JENNINGS SETS TWO MILLERSVILLE INDOOR TRACK RECORDS AS WOMEN'S TEAM PLACES SIXTH AT PSACS; MEN'S TEAM PLACES 11TH
March 2 – Priscilla Jennings (jr. Solcanca HS) broke two Millersville University indoor track and field records on Sunday during Day 2 of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championships at East Stroudsburg University.
Jennings , who also registered two NCAA provisional times, broke her own mile-run record by completing the race in 5:03.27. She finished first in the PSAC field.
Jennings finished second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:14.32, which beat the old MU record, set by Joyce VanGinhoven in 1983, by 0.88 seconds.
Jennings' record-breaking performances helped the MU women to a sixth-place finish in the 13-team PSAC field, an improvement of one spot over last year's finish. The Lady Marauders tallied 63 team points, which were two points from fifth place and three points from fourth.
Michele Frayne (jr. Cardinal O'Hara HS) also had a good day for the Lady Marauders, finishing fifth in the 55-meter hurdles (8.69 seconds) and sixth in the triple jump (11.01 meters).
The women's 4x400 meter relay team of Krysty Geesey (so. Dover Area HS), Brittany Yanora (so. Elmer L. Meyers HS), Amy Thornton (sr. Northeastern HS) and Brittany Zuver (so. Central York HS) finished seventh with a time of 4:13.96.
The men's team finished with eight team points and placed 11th out of 12 teams. Adam Malloy (sr. Ephrata HS) paced the men's team with a 10th-place finish in the 800-meter run (1:58.52).
The NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field championships are scheduled for Fri., March 14 and Sat., March 15.
