FACULTY
The summer school faculty is composed of native and near-native speakers of the various foreign languages. Several come to the U.S. from France and Germany just to teach the summer school and conduct workshops for secondary teachers. Visiting faculty members live in the dormitories with the students and spend much of their extracurricular time with them.
ACTIVITIES
There are a variety of extra non-credit activities consisting of conversation, singing groups, folk dancing, film and video presentations, and performances of plays. The summer schools are operated on the firm belief that participation in a play is a highly effective way of learning a foreign language or increasing one's mastery of that language by utilizing it in a dramatic situation.
