"What in the world are you going to do with a degree in English?!?"

As English majors, we ALL have struggled with this question. To help our students address it carefully, the English Department provides the Millersville English Alumni Network (MEAN). Using the MEAN, former MU English majors from diverse careers generously offer their professional insights and expertise to our current majors.

The mentoring process is straightforward, navigated on-line at MU's career services homepage (see the instructions at the right for contacting mentors). Generally, correspondences via email are sufficient, and the Career Services Office acts as the liaison between students and their mentors.

Please understand that this network does not exist to provide job contacts. It is simply a place where current English majors can discuss with experts questions about possible career paths.

On the right hand column, click on the yellow icon "Jobs for MU Student and Alumni."

• If you are a student, click on the "Student" icon.
• If you are not registered, click on the link that says "Register Now." If you are already registered, log in at the link "Student Central."
• Once you have been registered, you can view "Search for Mentors."
• Enter the school password for Millersville (obtain from Dr. Halden-Sullivan or Career Services). Then click "Access Mentoring Network" and follow any further instructions.
