The linguistics option enables English B.A. or B.S. Ed. Majors to pursue in a formal way an interest in language study. The option introduces students to all major branches of the field of linguistics--descriptive (theoretical), historical/comparative, and applied. Students enrolled in this option fulfill all existing department requirements and complete a program of linguistic study in lieu of general English electives. In addition, students complete the equivalent of two semesters of foreign language study. Upon completion of the option, students are well prepared to pursue a variety of graduate and professional tracks.
For specific course requirements, see the Millersville University Undergraduate Catalog.
