New Interim Associate Dean

Appointment of Interim Associate Dean

Dr. Angela L. Cuthbert has been appointed Interim Associate Dean, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, effective immediately.

Dr. Cuthbert joined the faculty of Millersville University in 2001 and is currently Professor of Geography.  She has served as chairperson for the Department of Geography since 2006.   She has participated and held leadership roles in numerous committees, searches and university task forces, including the President’s Advisory Leadership Council, the Academic Standards Committee, the University Promotion and Tenure Committee, the University Honors College Committee, and the General Education Taskforce.  Dr. Cuthbert served as a Working Group Chair for the Middle States Accreditation Self-study; as Program Coordinator for the Engaged Scholars Program of the Civic and Community Engagement and Research Project; and as Assistant Coordinator for Commencement.  In the community, she is a consultant for the Lancaster County Conservancy, Lancaster Bureau of Police, and Lancaster County Planning Commission, among many other organizations.

Dr. Cuthbert received her Ph.D. in Geography from McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada in 2002.  She received a Master of Environmental Studies in Geography from the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, in 1996, and her Bachelor of Environmental Studies in Geography from the University of Waterloo in 1995.  During her tenure at Millersville University, she has made numerous presentations, published in peer-reviewed journals, and actively participated in student-faculty research as advisor and committee member for student senior and honors theses.  She currently serves as faculty advisor for three student organizations.
