Abstract

The partnership involved student and faculty resources from the Department of Computer Science of Millersville University as well as administrative and technical resources from GeographIT, a Lancaster-based company. ATS specializes in applying spatial information technology in innovative ways to serve their clients, who are primarily government entities. GeographIT offers a wide range of geospatial information system (GIS) consulting services, including project management, strategic planning, preparing requests for proposals (RFPs), and quality control. Recently, GeographIT hired Mr. Jesse Stauffer as their Directory of Information Technology, and they aim to expand the software products that they can provide to customers. The project will placed two Millersville students at GeographIT this summer to develop a significant new software product. This product is a web application that will allow the visualization and manipulation of various GIS source data, and will present a significant new revenue source for the company.
