Apply - Graduate, Non-Degree
Non-Degree Application Process
You should use this application process if you:
- have completed a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution
- are undecided about a graduate area of specialization
- are not interested in a master's degree program
- are a currently certified educator, seeking to earn permanent teaching certification (Instructional II)
- are interested in a graduate-level institute or educator workshop (EDW)
- are completing work for transfer to another institution (Transient)
Online Application
Non-degree applicants should complete an online application. The on-line application portal accepts the $40 application fee using most major credit cards.
Please Note
It is important to understand that enrollment as a non-degree student does NOT include admission to a degree or certification program. While success as a non-degree student does not guarantee admission into a graduate or certification program, it is another piece of evidence that a student could use in their graduate application package. Non-degree students may apply for admission to a degree or a graduate level certification program after having accumulated graduate credits; however, no more than 9 credits as a non-degree student may be transferred to a degree or certification program, subject to departmental approval. Non-degree students are permitted to register for graduate courses if seats are available and if the course is not restricted by the department. Non-degree students are also encouraged to seek the academic guidance of the graduate coordinator in their intended discipline before enrolling in courses.
If you need further information about beginning as a non-degree student, please don't hesitate to call the Office of Graduate and Professional Studies at 717-872-3099.
