What made you choose Speech Communication as a major?
My choice to pursue a Bachelors of Arts in Speech Communication: Public Relations evolved over the course of my freshman year. I entered Millersville University as an undeclared student and found my initial adjustment to university life challenging. Fortunately with the support of family, friends, and my field hockey coach, I was able to adapt to college life. That experience helped me realize that relational communication played a vital role in my success and led me to pursue studies in communication.
What made you choose to come to Millersville?
Choosing Millersville University honestly started with my desire to play collegiate field hockey. Coach Shelly Behrens took an interest in what I wanted to become and her recruiting effort went beyond sports and centered on the value of an MU education and the MU experience I could have here. During an academic visit, the greeting speaker offered a challenge to the prospective students. The challenge was to seize the opportunities that MU has to offer. The challenge resonated with me and here I am, very pleased to have chosen Millersville University. I enjoy seizing the opportunities field hockey, peer educators, tutoring, and PRSSA has offered me here at Millersville as well as all of the other various opportunities my department and MU offers.
What do you plan on doing after you graduate?
I plan on attending graduate school to further my studies in communication studies. I also want to pursue a Ph.D. and hopefully return back to Millersville as either a professor or an administrator. I am also interested in starting my own business in the wellness and fitness field.
