BSE Portfolio Review - All BSE students who have successfully completed 60-75 credits will have a portfolio review, typically during ART 325. Works consist of student work from all art courses completed as well as any independent artwork. Works will be assessed by a panel of faculty members from the department. The panel minimally consists of three faculty members, including at least one Art Education and one studio faculty member. Initial discussion will ensue without the student present, thereafter, an evaluation form will be given to the student who will also experience a critique with the faculty panel.

All grievances must first be taken up with the instructor. If the complaint is not satisfactorily resolved, the complaint should be then brought to the student's advisor and then in writing to the department Chairperson. After meeting with the Chairperson of the department, the student may bring the complaint to the joint faculty/student Grievance Committee (2 art students, 2 art department faculty w/ the department Chair as moderator) to be heard. If the matter is still unresolved, it will be forwarded to the Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
