Massachusetts sculptor Gregory Kline will be showing a range of cast works in bronze and iron at Ganser Gallery. The Opening Reception/Gallery talk will take place on Tuesdday March 17th 2009, 5-7PM with a gallery talk by the artist at 6PM. With a distinct sense of humor, Gregory Kline’s work usurps the severity of historic architecture and traditional portraiture through his irreverently combined visual references.  Using a medium as traditional as cast metal further satirizes his subject matter in a thoroughly engaging manner. This solo show features an inclusive view of recent themes in Kline’s work including new works shown for the first time at Ganser Gallery.
The Gallery is located off the main lobby of Ganser Library at the intersection of
George and Frederick Street, Millersville University.

Biography: Gregory Kline received his B.F.A. in Sculpture from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and an M.F.A. in Sculpture from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.  Following his graduation, Greg attended a residency at the John Michael Kohler Art Center.  He currently lives in Western Massachusetts were he teaches sculpture at Hampshire College and the University of Massachusetts. His primary interests include metal casting and steel fabrication, assemblage sculpture and nerdy electronics. Gregory Kline exhibits his work nationally and is in numerous private and public collections.
