Shauna Frischkorn received her MFA in photography from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Her work has been widely exhibited in galleries and museums across the United States, including the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, NY, The Philadelphia Art Alliance, The Center for Photography at Woodstock, NY, and the Chautauqua Center for the Visual Arts, Chautauqua, NY. Her work is in several permanent collections including, The Microsoft Art Collection, The Samek Art Gallery Permanent Collection at Bucknell University, and the Fisher Gallery Collection, at the University of Southern California. Frischkorn’s photographs deal with popular cultural in everyday life. Her most recent two projects examine contemporary portraiture: Game Boys looks at the cultural phenomenon of video games by making portraits of the “gamers” who play them, and Solo is a portrait series that considers the popular phenomenon of singing competitions by photographing singers from all walks of life while they perform.
