About Dr. Dillion
Dr. Michael Dillon, Assistant Professor of Accounting, joined Millersville University in 2006. He served as interim MBA Program Director from 2007 to 2008. Prior to Millersville, he held management positions in accounting at General Electric and other prominent Fortune 500 corporations. Dr. Dillon received his doctorate in Accounting at the Lubin School of Business, Pace University, in Manhattan, his MBA in Finance from Temple University in Philadelphia, and his B.S. in History from LaSalle University in Philadelphia. He is a licensed CPA and has earned the CGMA designation (Certified Global Management Accountant).
Dr. Dillon’s research is designed to be actionable. A recent publication appearing in the Journal of Education for Business is an aid to educators and administrators regarding MBA internship programs. His current research concerns ethically questionable business behavior and potential avenues of redress.
In his classes, Dr. Dillon uses a variety of e-learning options. His web-facilitated courses are face-to-face but require significant student activity online to support in-class instruction. His flipped classrooms do not reduce the amount of time that students actually meet face-to-face, but change the way that classroom time is used. Students learn concepts outside of class by interacting with online videos or texts and then apply the concepts in class through differentiated activities and active learning strategies.
