Description: On January 25, the Ware Center, in collaboration with OperaLancaster, will present "Opera and Government," an Opera Unmasked lecture. This event, which will be held at noon in the Grand Salon at the Ware Center, will delve into the impact of legislation on opera and the arts community.
Titled "Opera and Government," Brandon Gryde, director of government affairs for Opera America, will discuss the government's role in the world of American opera including current trends and issues of interest to community opera companies.
Brown Bag Lunches are encouraged for this talk on the current state of government legislation's imac on the arts world, specifically opera. The lecture is the second in this year's Opera Unmasked series of free lectures designed to bring a greater understanding of opera to the community and remove some of its mystery.
