Description: On October 2, the Millersville University artist's lecture presents Steve Tobin. This event will be held from noon - 2 p.m. in Myers Auditorium, McComsey Hall.
About the Event: Tobin is a Pennsylvania artist who has work in major collections around the world, some may be familiar with his 9/11 memorial Trinity Root which is located at trinity church at Ground Zero. It is rare to see a local artist as someone with the amount of global exposure that Tobin has.
It is our hope to see an audience representing the diverse interests of our community at this talk as the talk will be touching on interests across a science and humanities spectrum as well as art specifically, Tobin has a background in the sciences himself and only later combined his interests and creativity to accomplish structural and creative feats.
This is a rare opportunity to experience an artist's talk that exhibits a different perspective on entrepreneurial creative accomplishments: With a starting point in mathematics and science Tobin has combined a passion for knowledge and sense of engineering with a unique creative outlook and desire to conquer his chosen mediums by achieving something technically beyond the expectations with each. He has applied this pioneering spirit through mediums as diverse as blown glass, termite mounds, bronze, exploded clay, cast glass and steel.
Ticket Information: This event is free and open to the public.
