Description: On May 18, The Ware Center, Millersville University Lancaster will host the Theatre of the Seventh Sister's Lancaster premier of Eurydice. Sarah Ruhl, award winning playwright, has written a contemporary piece re-imagining the classic Orpheus myth, told from his wife, Eurydice's point-of-view. This event will be held at 7:30 p.m.
A second-showing will be held on Sunday, May 19 at 2:30 p.m.
About the Performance: When Eurydice must journey to the underworld on her wedding day, the loss of her beloved Orpheus is tempered by the reconnection with her adored father. Populated by a chorus of talking stones and the Lord of the Underworld, Hades has its own rules and logic, and she comes to feel that it's not all that bad a place. As long as she can remember her past there may be hope for her future. But what to do when Orpheus shows up to claim his missing bride? This delightful play about memory, loss and love is filled with breathtaking moments of tenderness and delightfully unexpected humor.
Ticket Information: This event is open to the public. Tickets cost $25.
