Description: Millersville University's One Book, One Campus selection for this year is How Does It Feel to be a Problem? Being Young and Arab in America. During this presentation, the author, Moustafa Bayoumi, and one of his interviewees, Yasmin Dwedar, will discuss the issues that inspired this book and its relevance to the community. This event will be held on September 12 at 7 p.m. in Lehr Room, Gordinier Hall.
About the Book: Just over a century ago , W.E.B. Du Bois posed a probing question in his classic The Souls of Black Folk: How does it feel to be a problem? Now, Moustafa Bayoumi asks the same about America's new "problem"-Arab- and Muslim-Americans. Bayoumi takes readers into the lives of seven twenty-somethings living in Brooklyn, home to the largest Arab-American population in the United States.
Ticket Information: This event is free and open to the public.
