Eligibility

Eligibility

All activity fee-paying students, faculty & staff members are eligible to compete. In co-ed activities, spouses of the above groups are eligible to compete.

Eligibility for the following groups is subject to the following guidelines:

  1. Participants using an assumed name will be barred from all intramurals activities in that semester.
  2. A team will forfeit any event in which an ineligible player participates.
  3. Any student who practices regularly with the varsity team is ineligible.
    • It is the Captain's responsibility to confirm eligibility of team representatives
  4. Participants may NOT participate on two (2) different teams in a same gender league (coed, men's, women's) and sport.
    • Participants may NOT participate on two (2) coed, two (2) men's or two (2) women's teams in the same sport
  5. Only Free Agents may request a transfer after their first scheduled game.
  6. Participants must sign an informed consent form.
  7. To be eligible for playoffs, a participant must have participated in at least one (1) league game.

Intramural Participation for NCAA, CLUB SPORT MEMBERS & PROFESSIONALS

NCAA

  1. All students who have used their college athletic eligibility as determined by the NCAA in a given sport are ineligible for intramural competition in their respective sport or any related sports.
  2. Any student who has earned 3 varsity letters in a given sport is ineligible for intramural competition in their respective sport or any related sports.
  3. Any student who practices regularly with the varsity team is ineligible.
    • Regardless if that individual is ineligible to compete due to grades or the transfer rule.
    • If you practice regularly with a varsity team you are a team member & are ineligible for intramural competition in their respective sport or any related sports.
  4. Any student on a varsity sport roster @ the beginning of a semester or after the first league game is ineligible for intramural competition in their respective sport or any related sports.
    • All junior varsity and varsity team members are ineligible for intramural competition in their respective sports or any related sport for one semester following their last practice or competition.
    • A team will forfeit any event in which an ineligible player participates.

Club Sport

  1. A club sport member is any player who is listed on the roster of a club sport team in a semester.
  2. An intramural team may ONLY have one (1) club sport member participate per intramural team in their respective sport or any related sports
  3. If an intramural team has two (2) or more club sport members those club sport members are ineligible to participate in their respective sport or related sports during that semester.
    • If two (2) or more club sport members (regardless if they quit the team) play an intramural sport in the fall semester, they are ineligible to participate in their respective sport of related sport for that fall semester.  They can participate in the spring semester in their respective sport or related sport provided they are the only club member per intramural team.
    • If two (2) or more club sport members (regardless if they quit the team) play an intramural sport in the spring semester, they are ineligible to participate in their respective sport or related sport for the spring semester.  They can participate in the fall semester.
  4. A team will forfeit any event in which an ineligible player participates

Professional

  1. Any student who has established themselves as professionals in any sport shall be ineligible for intramural competition in their respective sport or any related sports, which they have lost their amateur standing.
