Mission Statement

Career Services at Millersville University prepares students for productive roles in their community by assisting them to explore and choose occupations related to their values, interests and skills, utilizes traditional and innovative approaches to educate students/alumni on effective marketing strategies for employment/graduate school, and maximizes student/alumni exposure to employers by utilizing technology and conventional based programming to enhance career choices.

Vision

The Millersville University Career Services office will empower students and alumni to make life long career decisions and choices.

Strategic Goals 2009 - 2012

After consideration of the Mission and Vision Statements, along with the Academic Affairs Strategic plan, the Career Services office will:

1. Assist students to explore majors/occupations related to their values, interests, and skills.
2. Provide a supportive environment where students/alumni can choose occupations/majors.
3. Offer opportunities for students/alumni to network with employers.
4. Assess student's needs and satisfaction with our services to insure best practices.
5. Empower students/alumni to effectively market themselves to employers or graduate schools.
6. Provide career development learning opportunities for students from diverse backgrounds.
7. Offer the highest standard of services by utilizing technology to address the career development needs of students/alumni.
8. Collaborate with university departments to promote joint programming, student development, referrals and comprehensive services.
9. Maintain outreach efforts with faculty and student groups by providing programming on career development and job search strategies.
10. Develop, implement and monitor cost containment and revenue generation strategies.

Alumni Policy

Services are free for the first three years after your graduation date. An annual service fee of $20.00 will provide you with services after three (3) years.
