Reflect & Connect Series
The Reflect & Connect Series is a series of gatherings where community members—faculty, students, staff, and residents in the larger community—read short pieces of literature on service, reflect on civic engagement, and connect with the community.
Prior to each event, participants register for the session, obtain the reading about civic engagement from Huntington House or through links on Facebook, and read a short (2-6 page) pieces of literature. At the event, facilitators—faculty, staff, or students—organize discussion and activities to help participants reflect on the literature as it relates to service and civic engagement.
At the end of each of the first three meetings during the semester, participants will fill out a form to identify their community service interests or involvements. At the fourth and final meeting of each semester, all previous attendees will be invited to a round-table discussion about connecting with the community. The Office for Experiential Learning & Career Management will attend this fourth meeting to discuss individual opportunities for getting involved, volunteering and connecting with the community based on participants’ previously identified interests.
Sessions are free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided. Check Events for more information.
