DRI Business Continuity Planning Management Course
What would you do when disaster strikes? Have you considered how your workplace will continue operations? Do you have a plan? Without a plan a small incident could lead to disaster. Can your business survive a disaster? The Introduction to Business Continuity Planning Management course is designed to provide the business professional with the tools and resources for creating and managing a business continuity plan to help your business is prepared for the unexpected.
The Millersville University Center for Disaster Research and Education in collaboration with the Disaster Recovery International (DRI) present two offerings of this course. This course is designed to provide business professionals with a fundamental understanding of a business continuity management program and how it is implemented in the business environment. Participants will be educated on the regulations and standards affecting the business continuity industry. This course will provide tactical tools for building and managing a Business Continuity Management Program within their organization as well as prepare the participant for business continuity certification tests.
This 16-hour course will be offered in two formats. We will have a face-to-face offering at the Dixon University Center in Harrisburg, PA and a fully online format.

The South Central PA Task Force will hold its fourth annual Regional Business Continuity and Emergency Preparedness Conference on Friday, October 24, 2014, at the Dixon University Center in Harrisburg, PA. The one-day conference is FREE. More than 300 business leaders from South Central PA and beyond, representing organizations ranging in size from less than 50 to more than 250 employees, have attended the conferences since 2011. Few businesses expect to have an emergency, but every year thousands do. Those businesses without a plan face a difficult path to recovery. Some are not able to recover and end up closing their doors. This conference provides a local, no-cost educational opportunity for all sizes of organizations with wide ranges of business continuity and emergency preparedness experience. Attendees will be able to formulate new plans for their organization or enhance existing plans. Space is limited to 100 attendees. Lunch is provided.

Regional Business Preparedness Campaign is a collaboration between Millersville University‟s Center for Disaster Research and Education and the Business, Industry and Infrastructure Subcommittee of the South Central PA Task Force. We have partnered with the Chambers of Commerce in South Central PA to reach out to their members.
Troy Neville has over 20 years of experience in information technology and emergency planning and response. He has an M.S. in Emergency Management and a B.S. in Computer Science. He is certified as an Associate Business Continuity Professional, Fire Officer III, Fire Instructor II and Incident Safety Officer. Troy is a DRI Certified Instructor at the Center for Disaster Research and Education at Millersville University, Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator for Planning in Manheim Township, Lancaster, PA, and Systems Engineer for Design Data Corporation. Troy is also a vulnerability assessment team member for the South Central PA Task Force and is the coordinator for the South Central PA Business Preparedness Campaign.
