Additional Information

Alison is a sociologist, native to England, whose interest in disasters began with a course taught by Dave Neal and a realization that England had no 'natural' disasters.  Her undergraduate dissertation investigated the British Perception of Disaster. She moved to Texas to work for Dave Neal and undertake her Masters. Alison is now a research assistant for Niki Dash; she is nearing the end of her PhD. The focus of the dissertation this time is to investigate the idea of religion as a social vulnerability.

Alison Herring teaches EMGT 653: Theoretical Perspectives and Methods Applied to Emergency Management.
