Research Interests

Her research interests are varied and include such diverse topics as:

  • Study and analysis of artists' materials
  • Chemical microscopy
  • Analysis of environmental pollutants using optical microscopy, IR, and chromatography
  • Educational research on how students learn chemistry

Dr. Hill is also interested in promoting science teaching among elementary and secondary teachers and offers summer education workshops that integrate the teaching of science and art.

About Dr. Patricia S. Hill

Dr. Hill joined the Chemistry Department in the Fall of 1986. She is also certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists as a Chemical Technologist and Specialist in Chemistry.
