Letter From the Assistant Director of Student Programs

Letter From the Assistant Director of Student Programs

Welcome to the 'Ville! As you prepare to begin your collegiate experience, I encourage you to explore the numerous involvement opportunities available at Millersville. The Student Programs Office provides many of the programs and services to enhance your Millersville experience.

I encourage you to seek out opportunities on campus that will get you involved in college life. There are numerous opportunities for involvement available through the Student Programs Office. Use this web site as an introduction to one of the numerous involvement opportunities on campus, Greek Life. The social fraternities and sororities at Millersville have a history dating back to the mid 1960's and a rich tradition of diverse membership. Academics should be your primary focus during your time in college. However, an important part of your educational experience can be active participation in Greek Life, which can compliment your academic endeavors. The Greek Community and individual chapters provide academic support, community involvement and service, leadership opportunities, and campus activities and participation to complete your educational experience.

Students involved in Greek Life are an important part of Millersville. In many cases, these students are leaders in many of the student organizations on campus and involved in numerous activities beyond Greek Life. Their active involvement includes the Student Government, various University committees, and other student leadership position on our campus.

There are four governing councils of Greek Life at Millersville, the All Greek Council, the Interfraternity Council, the Panhellenic Council, and the National Pan-Hellenic Council of Millersville University, as well as over 18 diverse social fraternity and sorority chapters that offer a variety of programs and interests of those interested in this involvement opportunity.

Your time at Millersville is your opportunity to learn. It is your chance to grow. There will be no substitute for your active involvement outside of the classroom. I encourage you to check out the many opportunities available on campus to be involved, and to look specifically at the Greek Community on campus.

Sincerely,
Marsha S. McQuate
Assistant Director of Student Programs
