Ron Baker is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Millersville University. He is currently teaching courses in microeconomics (principles, intermediate, and industrial organization).
Ron’s main research focus is in the field of experimental economics. Recent research topics include comparing group and individual decision making, public goods with matching funds, and the use of social information to increase charitable contributions. He is also interested in applied microeconomics. See his curriculum vita for a list of his working papers.
Ron is the faculty advisor for the Economics Society. This group of undergraduate students meets twice each month to organize various social (bowling, BBQs) and educational (seminars, business tours) activities. The Economics Society attended sessions at the 2008 meeting of the American Economics Association held in New Orleans, LA. The Economics Society plans to return for the 2009 meeting held in San Francisco, CA. Ron is also a member of the Millersville University Faculty Senate, Academic Policies Committee, Social Science Curriculum Committee, Academic Standards Committee, and is the faculty advisor for the Millersville Chapter of the Sigma Pi fraternity.
Ron is a native of Latrobe, PA. He received his bachelor’s degree from Saint Vincent College in 1998 and his doctor of philosophy from Indiana University-Bloomington in 2005. He joined Millersville University in fall 2005.
