Dr. McPherson specializes in monetary economics, macroeconomics, and econometrics. She has taught courses in Principles of Macroeconomics, Money and Banking, Intermediate Macroeconomics, Statistics, and Econometrics. Her research interests include the regional effects of monetary policy, structural unemployment, and the design and effectiveness of interactive teaching methods in statistics. Some sample publications include: “Do Local Banks Matter for the Local Economy? In Search of the Regional Credit Channel,” and “Intranational Financial Integration: Evidence from the Canadian Banking Industry.”
