To help students focus on their career plan and discover job opportunities in their field, the office of Experiential Learning and Career Management at Millersville University hosts an annual Career Week. The activities and workshops include interviewing tips, internship and job opportunities, resume feedback, alumni networking, and more!

Monday, February 26

Internship Clinics

If it seems challenging to know where to begin your internship search, this workshop is for you.  We will show you how easy it is to navigate the internship search process.  The workshop will cover:

  • Details on the eligibility requirements to seek internships for academic credits
  • Details on the process for seeking and securing an internship for credit
  • How to prepare for the internship search (resume and interviewing coaching)
  • What are the academic requirements once an internship is secured for academic credits

How to Build Your LinkedIn Profile

Learn how to develop a LinkedIn profile that will get you noticed by recruiters.  We will show you how to navigate effectively through the complex world of making connections and to use LinkedIn for your internship and job search.  Learn about joining groups, posting, publishing, and other strategies that will make you pop as a candidate that recruiters will want to reach out to.  Details: Bring your computer and an electronic version of your resume and come prepared to work on your profile during the workshop.  Presented by Amanda Robinson, PHR, SHRM-SP - Field Talent Acquisition Manager, Flagger Force and Lancaster Society of Human Resource Management member.

The University Honors College will offer a panel discussion open to all students (undergraduate and graduate) on practical suggestions for making the transition to career success. A panel of alumni and professional mentors will share their experiences on how best to prepare and position oneself for finding a job, creating a resume, interviewing, and then advancing in a chosen career.
