Millersville University Scholarships offered through the Office of Financial Aid

Preference will be given to students who have fulfilled credit requirements at Millersville University.

If a scholarship refers to credits earned, it is referring to the number of credits earned as of the completion of the Fall 2012 semester.  Please review the following scholarship requirements before applying:

American Association of University Women PDF

  • Be a member of the Senior Class (90+ credits earned)
  • Have completed 90 credit hours at Millersville University
  • Be a non-traditional female - 24 years of age or older
  • Be a resident of Lancaster County
  • Be in good academic standing
  • Have financial need (as determined by the Office of Financial Aid)

AFSCME Local 2421 Scholarship PDF

  • Must be a full-time share member or dependent of a member of AFSCME Local 2421
  • Be in good academic standing
  • Have financial need as determined by the Ofice of Financial Aid
  • Enrolled in a degree-seeking program
  • Completed a minimum of 30 credits

  • Be a member of the Junior Class (60-90 credits earned)
  • Maintained a cumulative grade point average of 2.00 or higher
  • Dependent partially or completely upon his or her own efforts for financing a college education.

  • Be in good academic standing
  • Have financial need (as determined by the Director of Financial Aid)

Dr. Nathan C. Schaeffer Memorial Scholarship PDF

  • Be a resident of Lancaster County
  • Be a full or part-time UNDERGRADUATE or POST-UNDERGRADUATE student
  • Enrolled as an education major or in an education program
  • Maintained a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher

  • Be a commuting student
  • Demonstrated noteworthy service to the Commuting Student Association
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00. Preference will be given to students who have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher

Clarence Schock Foundation Scholarship

This is a scholarship awarded to incoming freshman (admitted for Fall 2012) who have financial need and are residents of or currently enrolled in schools districts in the following counties: Adams, Berks, Chester, Cumberland, Dauphin, Delaware, Lancaster, Lebanon, and York. 

This award is valued at $6600 for 4 years ($1200 for first year, $1600 for second year, $1800 for third year, and $2000 for fourth year), provided the student remains continuously enrolled full-time and has a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0.  Students must also contintue to be a resident of the above listed counties.

Women's Giving Circle Scholarship PDF

  • Be a female
  • Have completed 85 credit hours at Millersville University
  • Have intention to be a member of the senior class for the 2013-2014 academic year
  • Be in good academic standing — GPA of 2.5 or higher

In addition to the application, the student will need to complete a typed narrative (not to exceed one page, double spaced, 12pt font) which addresses the question: How does the mission of Millersville University Women's Giving Circle relate to you?
