First Year Experience Mentors (FYEM)

First Year Experience Mentors are trained, upper-class students who provide support and advice to first year students in the UNIV103 classes.

Mentors attend at least one class session each week and meet with students from the class on a regular basis throughout the semester. They highlight programs, activities and events that new students should consider attending, and they direct students to campus resources as needed. Mentors also meet regularly with the faculty member leading the UNIV 103 class to review any concerns related to students and their social and academic adjustment to college. The mentors are one more resource that New Students have assisting them with the adjustment to college and their success at Millersville University.
