Millersville University’s freshmen living/learning communities have been in existence for the past seven years. Designed to help foster student engagement and increased satisfaction among first-semester students resident life faculty and students play a key role in the success of this initiative. Designated Freshmen housing along with the pairing of a First year seminar class along with either an English 110 or a Communications 100 class serves to help create a living/learning community for in-coming first semester students. This experience provides an opportunity for the students to begin to feel a part of the larger Millersville family. Residential programming and co curricular and extra curricular activities also play a part in the community atmosphere.
