Program Schedule
The Millersville University English Language Institute (ELI) offers two 14- week sessions per year, beginning in September and in January, as well as a 10- week session beginning in June.
14-Week Sessions
- September – December (MU Fall Semester*)
- January – May (MU Spring Semester*)
10-Week Sessions
- June – August (MU Summer Semester*)
*The ELI sessions follow the same academic calendar as the University, including holidays and vacations. Upcoming beginning dates are:
- Fall 2017 – August 28, 2017
- Spring 2018 – January 22, 2018
- Summer 2018 – June 11, 2018
- Fall 2018 – August 27, 2018

Orientation
All new ELI students should plan to attend international student orientation, arriving on campus 5 days prior to the start of classes. Specific dates and schedules will be communicated per semester. This orientation is mandatory and ensures proper English-level placement and adjustment to the U.S. and campus culture.
Sample Program Schedule
At the ELI of Millersville University, students have formal instruction at least 18 hours per week, with guided language lab time for an additional 4 hours per week. The ELI offers four core focus areas per level, which are:
- Core A – Academic Reading and Vocabulary Building
- Core B – Academic Writing
- Core C – Grammar
- Core D – Listening and Speaking
Each core class meets for 4 hours each week, while electives meet 2 hours each week. Students can gain additional contact hours through the use of the language lab and ELI’s Academic Support Program. As per the table below, each class period is 2 hrs. 15 mins, which includes a 15-minute break during each class. Classes are offered between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday – Friday during the academic year.

Program Fees
Depending on visa type, ELI students may enroll full-time or part-time. Full-time tuition for one 14-week session is $3,650, plus general student fees. Part-time tuition for one 14-week session is $2,400, plus general student fees. Students who take advantage of the concurrent Millersville University course enrollment option during ELI levels 4, 5 or 6 will be responsible for the additional tuition and fees required. Please Note: Students that are on an F-1 student visa are not allowed to study part-time in the ELI, unless enrolled full-time in an academic program, or if taking courses during the summer months. Students with F-2 and J-2 visas, as well as other visa categories have the option of studying part-time.

Textbooks
Text books and any other required educational materials are included in the ELI program fee.
Paying Your Tuition
ELI students will not receive a tuition and fee bill until they are registered for classes. Payment can be made in-person or online. International students are encouraged to use Flywire for tuition payments. This service offers an opportunity to pay securely from any country or bank using any currency. Special Note for Sponsored Students
Students who are sponsored through a government or other third-party must work with Global Education and the Office of Student Accounts to ensure timely invoicing and payment of tuition and fees.
Refund Policy
The Add/Drop period is during the first week of the program only. During that week, students are able to withdraw from the program and receive a full refund on tuition paid. A student who withdraws from the ELI after the first week is not eligible for any refund.
