Global Ambassador Program

Consider becoming a Global Ambassador!

The Global Ambassador Program (GAP) promotes international education and leadership opportunities for Millersville University students. Global Ambassadors will support the transition of international students and the reintegration of study abroad alumni to campus by actively taking part in a variety of international initiatives on campus. In addition, Global Ambassadors will promote the overall goal of creating an internationalized campus community.

Why be a Global Ambassador?

  • Recognition of participation every semester; recognition during final semester for overall participation

    • Apply: There is a rolling admissions process up until the deadline. Submit the application and supplemental pictures to 
      • Deadline Fall: September 1st
      • Deadline Spring: February 1st
    • Interview: You will be contacted by Global Education for an interview. You will be notified within one week of acceptance.
    • Once accepted: you will need to complete your initial semester. 
      • Initial Semester: You must complete 12 points. You must participate in a minimum of two separate activities.
      • To remain an "Active" Ambassador: You must complete 10 points per semester.
      • To request to become an "Inactive" Ambassador: If you are finding the commitment too difficult and need to become "inactive" for one semester, please notify Global Education. You will still be contacted about various events to participate in.

  • Recognition

    Each semester Global Education will provide training for new GAP participants and host an International Skills Workshop free of charge. Global Ambassadors will be recognized on the Global Education website and given a free t-shirt to wear to events. Any student leading a GAP event will be able to attend for free. GAP will provide a network of professional benefits such as offering references and be a valuable addition to add to experience on resumes.

    Students who successfully complete GAP will be recognized each semester for their dedication. This will take place during International Education Week in the fall semester and at the Celebration of International Education Event in the spring semester.
