In addition to many individual courses, GPS offers degree and certificate programs to qualified adult students through distance learning, blended learning and on-site at off-campus locations. If you would like to obtain a graduate degree in emergency management or social work, or study towards a professional certificate nursing education, or obtain professional continuing education credit for educators, there are degree and certificate programs available here that are intellectually challenging and professionally rewarding.

Master of Science in Emergency Management

This is a fully online degree program that has been developed specifically for professionals currently in full-time careers. The program schedule is designed for completion on a part time schedule, so that students may complete the program in as little as two years.

Master of Social Work

Millersville and Shippensburg universities are collaborating to offer the Master of Social Work (MSW) degree program in a distributed format. Using interactive television (ITV) technology, students in classrooms at both campuses participate simultaneously in courses offered on either campus. The program includes online components as well as on-campus class meetings.

Certificate in Nursing Education

This is a post-baccalaureate certification program for licensed RNs who seek further preparation in the specialty area of nursing education. Applicants are required to hold a bachelor or master’s degree (preferably in nursing) and be currently licensed as a registered nurse. The program is offered fully online with workplace-based fieldwork.
