Why did you choose MU?

I chose Millersville University because I attended Millersville as I began my undergraduate degree so I was familiar with Millersville. But I actually decided to pursue a MSW when I attended an information session given by the Graduate Studies Office with a friend. I was so inspired and amazed by all that had changed at Millersville and the Social Work program that I decided that night to apply.

What has been your experience so far?

One of the most positive aspects of the MSW (Masters of Social Work) program by far are the faculty. I have never found a group of individuals so committed to supporting, encouraging, teaching and mentoring to students than at Millersville University and specifically our Social Work Department. The faculty are focused on the students and helping us achieve our goals not just in terms of our education but long term in terms of who we want to be as Social Workers and more importantly as human beings.

What is your favorite thing about MU?

The people. Millersville University has the most dedicated staff, faculty, administration and students. Being involved on campus just enhances the educational experience at Millersville. I can honestly say I wish they had a doctorate program in Social Work because I would probably never leave. The staff in the Office of Social Equity & Diversity have made my experience as a GA and a student beyond anything I could have imagined. They have encouraged and supported my efforts to learn, advocate and engage in outreach within the campus community and beyond. My work is a reflection of all they have taught and shared with me in such a short time.

What are your post-graduation plans?

I would love to obtain a position at Millersville University as crazy as that sounds. I have grown as a person and I would appreciate the opportunity to give back to Millersville. So I would aspire to continue the work I am doing now.
