Applied Behavior Analysis Institute

Using Applied Behavior Analysis in the Classroom

This institute will provide participants with the process for implementing Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) techniques to improve academic performance and decrease disruptive behaviors in the classroom.  The session will begin with a definition of ABA and relevant principles, i.e, reinforcement, that explain how learning occurs.   Throughout the week, participants will be exposed to research and evidence-based  behavioral strategies to promote a more conducive learning environment for the range of challenging student behaviors.  Strategies explored will be applicable for general and special educators as well as related service providers and school based staff who engage with students.
