Sensitive counseling/care for women's and men's health issues is available at Health Services.
Pregnancy Testing
Urine pregnancy testing is offered during regular office hours in Health Services for $5.00.
Emergency Contraception
Emergency Contraception, commonly referred to as the "morning after pill," if taken within 72 hours of the unprotected intercourse can decrease the chances of unplanned pregnancy when a condom breaks or comes off, after sexual assualt or after any unprotected sexual intercourse. Emergency Contraception, Plan B, is available at Health Services. The cost of Plan B is $20, which includes a mandatory urine pregnancy test. Prices are subject to change. The nurses also take time to provide health counseling about STI exposure and risk reduction.
Laboratory Testing
Lab tests including Pap smears, pregnancy blood tests, are sent to private labs, and charges will be the student's responsibility. Health Services is a partner with the PA Department of Health and is currently able to to testing and treatment of some sexually transmitted illnesses at no cost to the student.
Information regarding referral to local private gynecolgists/urologists may be obtained upon request.
Planned Parenthood of Lancaster has offices at 31 S. Lime St. They maybe contacted for an appointment by calling 299-2891. Planned Parenthood of Lancaster offers contraceptive care and prescriptions at greatly reduced costs. Free STD testing is also available.The Red Rose Transit Authority (bus) may be taken to reach their office.Check bus fare at this website.
