Maraudership is a two-day leadership conference held on Millersville University’s campus annually. It was started seven years ago as the vision of two students who attended the Leadershape Institute. Every year about 60 MU students collaborate and learn how to become better leaders and what leadership really means. Every year the theme and curriculum of the conference changes, so if you have attended in the past, come again!
Maraudership is a program that is based off of Leadershape, an international leadership development program that holds many sessions each summer. It is a six day program which emphasizes developing a vision and gives participants the tools to make it a reality. Approximately 60 students from around the world participates in each interactive session, providing them the opportunity to get to know each other through a series of small and large group discussions and activities. Maraudership operates on the same basic ideas. We take 60 students from across campus and break them into family groups led by a faculty/staff member. Students will get to know each other through small group work and large group discussions. As participants, you will learn what leadership is all about and, more importantly, about yourself.
This year, the two-day conference will be on Friday, March 19th and Saturday, March 20th in the Student Memorial Center. We will begin Friday evening at 4:30 PM and finish around 9:00 PM. Saturday we will start at 9:00 AM and finish by 4:30 PM!
Applications (PDF) are due on Friday, March 5th by 4 PM to the Housing Department Office. With your application, a $5.00 registration fee is also required. You must answer the questions on the application (PDF). The participants for the conference will be selected based on answers to the questions on the application. Applications will be looked at and selected on a first-come, first-serve basis. Priority is given to individuals who meet all deadlines.
Thank you for your interest, and we look forward to seeing you at the 2010 Maraudership Leadership Conference!
