General Information

Community service (volunteering) and service-learning are great ways to get out into the community. By working with community organizations, leaders, volunteers and participants you'll enhance your classroom learning with experiences that expand your boundaries and challenge your assumptions about the world around you. You can develop career-related skills, or use abilities and interests that may not relate to your major. You may even discover new talents! All while making the community and the world a better place.

Volunteer Opportunities

Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity in the Lancaster area? Maybe you’re looking for a group project, or want to volunteer on your own? Do you need to find a service-learning placement?

Volunteer Solutions is a searchable database of over 190 nonprofit organizations and more than 200 volunteer opportunities throughout Lancaster.

Volunteering in Millersville means there are no worries about driving, and you can make a difference right here in this community. Meals on Wheels, the Senior Center, and others welcome a limited number of MU student volunteers every year.

Special Requests come in to our office all the time—organizations who are proactively looking for MU student volunteers. Often they have special projects they need help with, or they are looking for skills that they know our students are likely to have.

Contact us directly for even more opportunities, advice, or for help connecting to an organization or interest with which you would like to volunteer.

Student organizations – we’re here to help you make those service hours mean something to you, your members and the organizations you serve. We can help you have fun, make a difference, and meet those service requirements. If you’ll contact us, we’ll work with you and support your community service efforts.
