Welcome to the Millersville University Music Department

The Music department is a vital cultural and educational resource in Pennsylvania. The mission of Millersville University department of music goes beyond the traditional training of performers; we are educating the future entrepreneurs, performers and music educators. Our students are becoming leaders in the fields of music education and music business through the Music Business & Technology and Music Education degree programs. The Millersville University Department of Music is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music, the academic accrediting body of all leading music conservatories and universities throughout the United States.

We have an extraordinary music faculty, which enables us to fulfill our mission. Faculty members have studied with many of the leading teachers and performers in their fields and have graduated from first-class music schools and conservatories in the United States and Europe including Juilliard School of Music, New England Conservatory, Yale University, Indiana University (Bloomington), Nebraska-Lincoln, Florida State University, Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, and Trinity College of Music, London. Our graduates have assumed positions of leadership in the music business com- munity and in the field of music education. Our alumni are training the future performers, music teachers and audiences of tomorrow and can be found in many school districts throughout Pennsylvania. Our graduates have developed an impressive track record of post-baccalaureate study at such prestigious institutions as Harvard, Oberlin, Temple University, New England Conservatory of Music, New York University and North Texas State University to mention just a few. Additionally, our graduates can be found within the realm of academe as university professors at New York University, West Chester University, Millersville University, San Francisco Conservatory of Music as well as instructors at the Pennsylvania Academy of Music.

The Music Department offers degree programs, classes for students from across campus and programs for the community.
