Cheryl Staherski received her bachelor’s degree in music education from Millersville University, where she has been a professor of horn for 16 years. She plays in many regional opera orchestras and quintets, and has studied with teachers from both the Baltimore and Philadelphia Orchestras. She is currently pursuing additional studies with Mary Bisson, a faculty member at the Peabody Conservatory of Music. Mrs. Staherski plays principal horn with the Lancaster Symphony, the Lancaster Opera Company Orchestra, the Lancaster Pops Orchestra, and the Susquehanna Brass Quintet. She has appeared as soloist with the Susquehanna Chorale and has played with a wide range of other orchestras, from the Reading and Delaware Symphony Orchestras to the Pennsylvania Symphonia Orchestra in Allentown, where she was the principal horn for the Pittsburgh Opera Company tour. Mrs. Staherski has also appeared frequently as soloist with the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra.
