Millersville University Keystone Singers

The Millersville University Keystone Singers (formerly the MU Chorale) sings the highest quality music from the vast history of the choral repertoire, focusing on masterpieces and modern compositions. Comprised of approximately 28 of Millersville's finest students from throughout the University community, each singer must pass a rigorous vocal and musical audition to earn a roster position with the Keystone Singers. This group serves as the vocal chamber ensemble at Milelrsville.

Performing widely on campus and in the community as ambassadors of Millersville University, in recent years The Keystone Singers has sung concerts in New York, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Boston, Baltimore, Reading, and Harrisburg, and by invitation for PMEA at the 2001 Pennsylvania Music Educator's Association in-service conference in Hershey, receiving a standing ovation. The The Keystone Singers toured California in January 2003, performing to packed houses in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, San Francisco and Modesto and were greeted with overwhelming responses. The Keystone Singers performed a special concert for Millersville University president Dr. Joseph Caputo in Palos Verdes Estates, CA as part of his farewell tour and sang for the casts, crew and audiences of the Drew Carey Show and Less than Perfect. The Keystone Sinfgers toured Mexico in the summer of 2005, and joined the Bethlehem Bach Choir and orchestra in a performance of the B-Minor Mass in March of 2005. In recent years MUKS has performed Orff's Carmina Burana, Faure's Requiem, Handel's Messiah, Vaughan Williams’ Dona Nobis Pacem, Vivaldi's Gloria, Britten's Ceremony of Carols, Mozart's Requiem, and David Fanshawe's African Sanctus.

This year, the Keystone Singers will perform once again with ethe Bach Choir of Bethlehem in three performances of Mendelssohn's Elijah.
