FRESHMEN:

At the end of FALL 06 you should have:

  • Under Musicological Objectives: 162 Dr. Tacka’s Assignment/paper
  • Theory/ Analysis Objectives: 104 DR. Houlahan's/ Dr. Tacka's test  (the ones that you had to make up for individual testing). Solfege 1 test.  
  • Under Composition/Improvisation: this is for solfge  (112, 212 312) and class Piano (131, 231, 331) you Professor will give you more information about this.
  • Reflection: there should be typed reflections about you experiences as a music major.
  • Performance Objectives: Major performance, Every student should have at least one recording posted on the online portfolio a year. Also, every student will write up a list of their repertoire

Sophomores:

As of Fall of 06 you should have:

  • Performance Objectives: Major performance, Every student should have at least one recording posted on the online portfolio a year. Also, every student will write up a list of their repertoire.
  • Musicological Objectives: 162 Dr. Tacka's Power Point
  • Theory/ Analysis Objectives: 104, 112, 212, 312 DR. Houlahan's test  (the tests that you had to make up for individual testing) or any other projects that he asked for.
  • Reflection: there should be typed reflections about you experiences as a music major for each semester that you here.
  • Under Composition/Improvisation: this is for solfge  (112, 212 312) and class Piano (131, 231, 331) you Professor will give you more information about this.
  • Under Pedagogy Objectives: lesson plan from Intro to music ed.
  • Music Industry Objectives (Music Industry Students ONLY)
    • Students will integrate professional work from MUSI 191, 192 and their 3- and 6-credit Cooperative Experiences
    • Students will integrate involvement within the associated professional organizations, including the Entrepreneurial Musicians' Forum and other university and departmental organizations.
    • Additionally, materials pertinent for courses taken in their core music courses and required Business Administration and Communications courses should be included on the online portfolio
    • Students are also encouraged to include their personally created music projects on their portfolios.

Juniors:

As of fall of 06 you should have:

  • Theory/ Analysis Objectives: 104, 112, 212, 312 412 DR. Houlahan’s test  (the ones that you had to make up for individual testing) or any other projects that he asked for.
  • Composition/Improvisation: this is for solfge  (112, 212 312) and class Piano  (131, 231, 331) your professor will give you more information about this.
  • Pedagogy Objectives: two elementary lesson plans. two secondary lesson plan.
  • Music Industry Objectives (Music Industry Students ONLY)

  • Theory/ Analysis Objectives: 104, 112, 212, 312 412  projects that Dr. H asked for.
    Under Composition/Improvisation: this is for solfge  (112, 212 312) and class Piano  (131, 231, 331) your professor will give you more information about this .
  • Pedagogy Objectives:
    • Two elementary lesson plans.
    • Two secondary lesson plans.
    • Unit plan for instrumental methods
    • Dr. Banks woodwind web sites.
    • Philosophical statement about teaching and a student teaching summery
  • Music Industry Objectives (Music Industry Students ONLY)
    • Students will integrate professional work from MUSI 191, 192 and their 3- and 6-credit Cooperative Experiences
    • Students will integrate involvement within the associated professional organizations, including the Entrepreneurial Musicians' Forum and other university and departmental organizations.
