Bachelor of Science in Music Education

The Bachelor of Science in Music Education (BSE) is a specialized degree, which provides students with the instruction and certification necessary to become a public school music teacher. The BSE program at Millersville is designed to provide hands on experience for students while preparing them for the musical and academic skill and knowledge needed in today's classrooms.

Bachelor of Arts in Music

The Bachelor of Arts in Music (BA) Degree at Millersville University is designed for individuals fascinated with music and its role in social and cultural life. The program is focused on academic study combined with the development of creative and critical thinking skills. Through an examination of grammar, structure and relationship to other arts within their cultural context, students gain an understanding of diverse musical traditions.

Bachelor of Arts in Music with an Emphasis in Music Business and Technology

Millersville University proudly offers a Bachelor of Arts in Music with an Emphasis  in Music Business and Technology (MB&T). Millersville is the only school in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) that offers music business, music recording, and performance opportunities within one-degree program. Students in the MB&T program at Millersville participate in the Creative Campus program as performers, entrepreneurs and educators.

Minors

Music, Music Business & Technology, or MB&T with a minor in Business Administration

Millersville University offers a minor in music that is designed for students majoring in fields other than music and are interested in furthering their performance skills with an instrument or voice. 

Courses, in addition to private lessons, are designed to reinforce the overall musical background of the student. The minor in music is not intended as professional preparation for a career in music, but for personal enrichment.  Admission to the program is offered by audition to students with a strong musical background.
