What is Spring Admit Orientation?

Spring Admit Orientation is a one day program which exists to both familiarize new students with the physical campus environment as well as take care of any necessary campus business before students arrive in the spring. At Spring Admit Orientation, students will have the opportunity to take placement examinations, get their student ID cards, attend session on college life at Millersville University and meet with an academic advisor if to discuss course selection. (Please Note: First-time college students will have their class schedules created for them. Academic advising sessions being held during Orientation are only for transfer students who wish to make changes to their schedule or add courses. If first-time students wish to change courses, they may do so during the add/drop period at the beginning of the spring semester).

Do I have to attend the Spring Admit Orientation Program?

Orientation is mandatory for first-time college students as well as any other student who needs to take placement examinations. All transfer students are welcome to attend and will have the opportunity to meet with an academic adviser as part of the Orientation program.

Do Graduate Students attend Orientation?

Do Family Members have to attend?

There will be programming provided for parents and family members of spring admit students. These sessions will address different areas and focus on the information necessary for a smooth transition to the Millersville community.

How do I register for Spring Admit Orientation?

Students planning to attend Spring Admit Orientation must pre-register online.

When do I need to arrive?

Please plan to arrive on campus between 8:00 and 8:30am. Check-in will take place in the Student Memorial Center.

Will there be a tour of campus?

An optional tour will be available to students and parents in the afternoon of Spring Admit Orientation. Both students and parents also have the option of experiencing our Virtual History Tour where you are able to see the campus and it’s history without ever leaving your seat!

What if I have questions not related to orientation?

What will the parking situation be on Orientation Day?

As Spring Admit Orientation occurs on a weekend, students and parents are able to park in any legal space on campus. It is recommended that you use the parking lot behind the Student Memorial Center for the most convenient parking.

Will there be programming for younger siblings?

Unfortunately we have no programming for younger siblings. We realize their importance in a family, however please keep in mind that this can be a very busy day and will be tiring for them. We would encourage them to visit at a later time.
