Discovery Channel's Jeff Lieberman

Who: Jeff Lieberman, MIT scientist and co-host of "Time Warp" presents "Time Warping Science!"

Using high-speed cameras (some at 5,000 frames per second) and a passion for science, the program focuses on everyday occurrences and amazing talents. A few examples:

- A martial arts expert catches arrows barehanded.

The Blue Man Group re-decorates using a catapult and buckets of paint.

A ride on one of the tallest roller coasters at Six Flags demonstrates the laws of physics.

Cotton candy is high tech using centrifugal force.
- A load of bricks falls and crushes a car.
- An axe shatters a block of ice into shards.

About Jeff Lieberman, MIT scientist and co-host of "Time Warp"
- Lieberman is a musician wrapped in a roboticist sculptor wrapped in a photographer.

To date, he has earned four degrees from MIT -- two B.S. degrees, in mathematics and physics, and two M.S. degrees, in mechanical engineering and media arts & sciences with a focus in robotics
-
He has put his Ph.D., from MIT's Media Lab, on hold because of "Time Warp" production schedule.
-
At MIT's Robotic Life Group, he headed design on the Cyberflora installation, which is a robotic flower garden that senses and responds to people in a lifelike manner.

Started the improvisational music group Listen-Silence.
-
Invented an electromagnetically levitated and wirelessly powered light bulb.
-
He is 31 years old and is seeking perfect mix of art and science in his life.
