Parent & Family Weekend

We invite all parents and family members to attend our Parent & Family Weekend. This unique opportunity is intended to be a fun-filled, relaxing experience for you and your family and we encourage you to take advantage of the social events both on campus and in the surrounding community.

Registration costs: Adults $20, MU Students and Children 12 & Under $15, Children 2 & Under are free.  

Registration includes: Tour of the NEW Residence Hall, Dean’s Reception & Welcome, Bus to Downtown Lancaster, Historic Tour of Downtown Lancaster, Field Hockey vs. Bloomsburg, Family Fun Zone, Marauder Dinner, Senior Recital and Robert Channing's Imagination Into Art

Bus Trip to Downtown Lancaster*

Buses will depart the Student Memorial Center at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. and drop off at the Ware Center (42 N. Prince Street, Lancaster).  Buses will depart from the Ware Center (42 N. Prince Street, Lancaster) at 12:00 and 1:30 p.m. to return to the Student Memorial Center.

Alumni Legacy Breakfast (Invitation Only)

The Millersville University Alumni Association cordially invites you to join them for a LEGACY BREAKFAST. This annual event is a time to recognize our alumni who have children currently enrolled as students at Millersville. There are currently over 500 legacy students at Millersville whose parents are alumni! There will be a brief program with remarks from University President, Dr. John Anderson and Alumni Association President Lori Dierolf ‘91.

To register for the Legacy Breakfast, please call the Office of Alumni Engagement at 717-872-3352 or toll-free at 1-800-681-1855. You can also register online at www.villealumni.com. Under “upcoming events” select “Legacy Breakfast” and complete the registration form. This event is free, but we do ask that you kindly register your family (including the MU student) by Friday, October 24, 2014. When you register, please let us know your total number of reservations with full guest names, (including the MU student). Dress for this event is casual.

Historic Tour of Downtown Lancaster*

Discover the history and beauty of Lancaster city guided by a costumed interpreter. Visit over fifty locations that span 250 years of Lancaster history. Average tour is between one and two hours, including an introductory DVD presentation of local history and major sites. You will become familiarized with the rich history of this central Pennsylvania town from early settlers to its role in the Revolution and Civil War eras. The walking is easy, but please wear comfortable shoes and dress accordingly for weather.

Dueling Organists

Dr. Ross Ellison, professor of organ at Millersville University, and Dr. Shawn Gingrich, professor of organ at Messiah College, will duke it out in a program of popular blockbusters on the 4-manual, 89-rank Walker Organ. Works by Bach, Vierne, Reger, Dupre and other notable composers will be featured.

Cost: $10 general admission, MU students admitted FREE with student ID.
