Please note that all programming is subject to change based upon weather (snow in October?) and other factors beyond our control.

Quite often, one of the highlights of a visit by family is an opportunity for the student to enjoy a meal off-campus. Download this list for some great local recommendations!

Do I need to sign up?

No. There is no advance sign up for any of the activities through this website. Some programs have limited availability, and directions for participating in those programs are provided in the descriptions.

7:00 PM                                 Family Fun Pub Trivia

Student Memorial Center, Galley

Match wits and useless knowledge with other Marauder families. The format will follow other popular trivia events held in pubs, bars and restaurants across the country. Perhaps there will even be a little Millersville University trivia mixed in!

7:00 PM                                 Murder Mystery Dinner

Student Memorial Center, Reighard Multipurpose Room

The Murder Mystery Dinner, hosted by Ville After Dark, is a mysterious three-course sit-down dinner. The show is an interactive and improvised comedic murder mystery set in the present day. The show takes place throughout the entire room, and performers may be seated at your table, so part of the fun from the beginning is trying to figure out who is involved in the crime and who is not. Throughout the night, murders and mayhem will occur, hidden clues will come forth and our Detectives will help everyone try to solve the crime. Your student may purchase family tickets through the University Box Office.

10:00 AM – 2:00 PM          MU Historical Scavenger Hunt

Across campus

Discover some of the exciting and unusual history of Millersville University by participating in this self-guided campus scavenger hunt. Crafty clues will lead you across the campus to historical markers. Collect the most right answers and be entered to win one of several scavenger hunt prizes! Get your first clue at the Hospitality Suite in Lyle Hall.

11:00 AM/11:30 AM          Sibling Story Hour

McNairy Library and Learning Forum

For those of you with younger children in attendance, Millersville’s Early Childhood Organization (ECHO) is hosting a children’s story time with a related craft. Each program is 30 minutes. Children must be accompanied by at least one adult member of their family in order to participate.

11:00 AM – 3:00 PM          Mobile Xcape Room-z51

Susan P. Luek Hall Parking Lot

The phrase, “Go to your Room!” takes on a completely new meaning with Mobile Xcape Room-z51. Two groups of up to six participants team up to beat one another in being the first to escape their alien- or zombie-infested room. The teams not only try to beat the clock but also try to beat the other team by curing the zombie/alien and bringing them back to life! There are many puzzles, mysteries, and twists keeping the two teams on their toes! Play time is approximately 10 minutes per session.

Students and staff in the Department of Housing and Residential Programs (HARP) will be providing free Halloween craft activities for our younger weekend guests. Children must be accompanied by at least one adult member of their family in order to participate.

This session will explain the theories behind the Clifton StrengthsFinder assessment tool (as discussed in the best-selling book, StrengthsFinder 2.0). You’ll also learn how your student can take advantage of opportunities at Millersville to know more about their talents and strengths.

It’s a family-friendly double feature! Illumination Entertainment/Universal’s Despicable Me 3 followed by Disney/Pixar’s Cars 3. In Despicable Me 3, Gru meets his long-lost charming, cheerful, and more successful twin brother Dru who wants to team up with him for one last criminal heist. Cars 3 continues the story of Lightning McQueen as the car sets out to prove to a new generation of racers that he's still the best race car in the world.
