Class Year: Junior
Hometown: Shartlesville, PA
Additional Information
As a freshman, Jill began her college academic career as a psychology major, but later decided to major in biology, a subject she finds more appealing and one that has interested her since her high school experiences.
Jill was able to make the step from high school to Millersville University easier by joining some of the university clubs, including the Biology and Entomology Club, as well as getting involved in the lab. She finds the University lab facilities supportive as she conducts her research studies as well as assists others.
The many Millersville opportunities outside of class are particularly important to Jill. Such opportunities are available to any students who are looking for them and willing to do the work. Jill has been able to conduct research in a summer program with Dr. John Wallace and interned at the Lancaster County Morgue. She has also been involved with the North American Forensic Entomology Association as well as the American Academy of Forensic Sciences.
Following graduation, Jill is considering graduate school. She feels that her valuable out of class experiences have better prepared her for what awaits beyond graduation from the School of Science and Math. Jill advises other students to get involved as much as they can.
