Identifying Qualified Students/Alumni for Employment

Principles for Professional Practice for Career Services & Employment Professionals

Millersville University Career Services adheres to the "Principles for Professional Practice for Career Services and Employment Professionals" from the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).

Third-party recruiters and Entrepreneurial Organizations in Recruitment: Third-party and Entrepreneurial Investment recruiters may use the MU website to post announcements regarding specific jobs. They are not authorized to conduct resume searches. Employers who require an investment or upfront fee to initiate the hiring process as a condition of employment, or organizations which are based on "pyramid" or "multi-level" structures will be denied access to MU's employer database.

Foreign-based firms: Employers that are foreign-based firms with no US locations and third-party recruiters who represent foreign-based firms with no US location will not be eligible to use this website immediately. Said companies and their representatives are asked to first establish a working relationship with a faculty member or an administrator at the University; the professional employee of the University who agrees to vouch for the company may then contact Career Services for further discussion. Another approach - the employer may send the MU Career Services a minimum of two (2) reference letters from two (2) career services professionals representing different US colleges or universities with whom the employer has worked with on a personal basis.

Rights Reserved: Millersville University Career Center reserves the right to investigate complaints by students about employers or jobs posted through the Career Center. If it is determined that a complaint is justified, the Career Center may choose to deny employer services to the employer involved and may choose to report the offending organization to appropriate agencies. The Career Center will provide written notification to the employer should a situation warrant investigation.

For questions about these policies, please contact the Millersville University Career Center at 717-872-3312.
