Spring 2018 Timeline

October 2 –  Program Application released for Spring/Summer Traineeships

November 10 – Deadline for Program Applications and Resume submissions

November 10 – ELCM prescreens students' applications/resumes and confirms student eligibility for the program

November 13-17 – Candidates complete online assessment tool (Clifton StrengthsFinder) to identify strengths

November 19 (Sunday) – Candidates participate in Career Camp for employment interview coaching and skill development.

Spring 2018 Traineeship Applicants will be required to attend the Traineeship Career Camp on November 19, 2017. Summer 2018 Traineeship Applicants are welcome to attend the November 19, 2017 Career Camp or can choose to participate in the Traineeship Career Camp scheduled for April 22, 2018.

November 20  Eligible Traineeship Candidates begin to view available employers and traineeship positions in Career Connection

November 20 - December 1 Candidates submit resumes and cover letters to employers for specific traineeship positions via Career Connection

December 4-15 – Employers hosting traineeship positions contact candidates, conduct interviews, and select their Trainees

January 25 – Pre-service Orientation for Trainees (common hour)

January 29 - February 2 – Trainees begin their traineeship at employer sites

February 8 – Skill Development Workshop: Creativity/Problem-Solving

February 22 – Skill Development Workshop: Oral/Written Communications

March 1– Skill Development Workshop: Teamwork/Interpersonal Skills

March 22 – Skill Development Workshop: Digital Technology

March 27 – Trainees Attend Job and Internship Fair

April 5 – Skill Development Workshop: Leadership

April 19 – Skill Development Workshop: Global/Intercultural Fluency

May 3 – Traineeship Wrap-up/Celebration/Lessons learned

July 19 – Skill Development Workshop: Teamwork/Interpersonal Skills and Digital Technology (2 hours)

August 16 – Skill Development Workshop: Leadership and Global/Intercultural Fluency (2 hours)

August 30 – Traineeship Wrap-Up/Celebration/Lessons learned (1 hour)
