Millersville University Scholarships offered through the Office of Financial Aid

The deadline for these scholarships is February 10, 2012 - Applications must be received by 5:00PM to be considered.

Preference will be given to students who have fulfilled credit requirements at Millersville University.

If a scholarship refers to credits earned, it is referring to the number of credits earned as of the completion of the Fall 2011 semester.  Please review the following scholarship requirements before applying:

American Association of University Women

2011-2012 Recipient: Tylia Jenkins

• Be a member of the Senior Class (90+ credits earned)
• Have completed 90 credit hours at Millersville University
• Be a non-traditional female - 24 years of age or older
• Be a resident of Lancaster County
• Be in good academic standing
• Have financial need (as determined by the Office of Financial Aid)

Campus Club Scholarship

2011-2012 Recipients: Jessica Summy, Jessica Feliciano, and Patience Buckwalter

• Be a member of the Junior Class (60-90 credits earned)
• Maintained a cumulative grade point average of 2.00 or higher
• Dependent partially or completely upon his or her own efforts for financing a college education.

Class of 1935 and Class of 1948 Scholarship

2011-2012 Recipients, Class of 1935: Katherine Peresolak and Elizabeth Peresolak
2011-2012 Recipient, Class of 1948: Melissa Horger

• Be a member of the Junior Class (60-90 credits earned)
• Be in good academic standing
• Have financial need (as determined by the Director of Financial Aid)

Dr. Nathan C. Schaeffer Memorial Scholarship

2011-2012 Recipient: Emily Zaiac

• Be a resident of Lancaster County
• Be a full or part-time UNDERGRADUATE or POST-UNDERGRADUATE student
• Enrolled as an education major or in an education program
• Maintained a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
• Have financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid

Helen C. Riso/Commuting Student Association Scholarship

2011-2012 Recipient: Laura Summy

• Be a commuting student
• Demonstrated noteworthy service to the Commuting Student Association
• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00. Preference will be given to students who have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
• Have financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid

Laurene Cassady-Auker Scholarship

2011-2012 Recipients: Stephanie Lastchar and Kristina Padula

• Be in good academic standing
• Have financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid

Non-Traditional Student Scholarship

2011-2012 Recipient: Lucy Ngokonyo-Weaver

• Be an independent, undergraduate student who is returning to school
• Completed 15 credit hours at Millersville University
• Have financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid

Valborg Fletty Memorial Scholarship

2011-2012 Recipient: Elizbeth Wilson

• Be a member of the Senior class (90+ earned credits)
• Be in good academic standing
• Have financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid

Violet F. Markey Academic Scholarship

2011-2012 Recipient: Kelli Clarkson

• Be in good academic standing — 3.0 or higher

This is a scholarship awarded to incoming freshman (admitted for Fall 2012) who have financial need and are residents of or currently enrolled in schools districts in the following counties: Adams, Berks, Chester, Cumberland, Dauphin, Delaware, Lancaster, Lebanon, and York. 

This award is valued at $6600 for 4 years ($1200 for first year, $1600 for second year, $1800 for third year, and $2000 for fourth year), provided the student remains continuously enrolled full-time and has a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0.  Students must also contintue to be a resident of the above listed counties.

The deadline to be considered for the 2012-2013 academic year is February 24, 2012.

Women's Giving Circle Scholarship

• Be a female
• Have completed 85 credit hours at Millersville University
• Have intention to be a member of the senior class for the 2012-2013 academic year
• Be in good academic standing — GPA of 2.5 or higher

In addition to the application, the student will need to complete a typed narrative (not to exceed one page, double spaced, 12pt font) which addresses the question: How does the mission of Millersville University Women's Giving Circle relate to you?
